Hawaiian Studies Academic Subject Certificate
The Hawaiian Studies Academic Subject
Certificate (HSASC) program is designed for students whowish to gain a
basic background in Hawaiian Studies. The course of study encompasses
Hawaiian Language, Hawaiian Culture, History, Art, and the Hawaiian
Environment. Most of the courses offered in these
areas may also satisfy Hawaiian language and Hawaiian Studies program
requirements or electives at the
University of Hawai'i, Manoa and Hilo Baccalaurate programs. In
addition, the course of study may also satisfy employer
needs for employees
knowledgeable in Hawaiian Studies, Language, Culture, History, and
Values. For many
the
course of study will bring personal fulfillment and satisfaction in
gaining a stronger knowledge and appreciation
of the Hawaiian Culture it's language, history and values.
