
MEDICAL OFFICE RECEPTIONIST (MOR)

Medical Office Receptionist is a short-term, 26-week training program involving credit courses from the Health and Business Education divisions, and non-credit courses from the Office of Continuing Education and Training. It is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in the medical services field. In addition to classroom instruction, hands-on application in a health care facility is an integral component of this training.
The program is offered to meet community needs when college resources permit.

True Colors - 3 hours
(Utilizing colors to identify 4 distinct perspectives and personalities; understanding the uniqueness of
self and others utilizing this technique, assist with team building skills)
Introduction to Windows and Internet - 12 hours
(Learn windows operating system to make personal computing more productive; basic knowledge and
skills needed to get on the information highway using Netscape)
Work Readiness/Customer Service - 30 hours
(Personal appearance, telephone etiquette, time management, dealing with difficult people, professionalism, communication skills; dealing with the confidentiality issue in the workplace)
