Judith Brown   Karen Lottis

Judith Brown RN, MSN

Judith's clinical experience is in medical surgical nursing. Her background includes nursing administration, clinical education, and certification in school nursing. She received a Master of Science in Nursing with specialization in education from the University of Phoenix and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau.

 

Karen Lottis , APRN, MSN

Karen comes to us via New Mexico where she worked as the sole health care provider in a busy rural outpost clinic and Neonatal Intensive Care nurse for many years. She received her MSN from University of New Mexico and is presently working on her doctorate. She is teaching the Fundamentals and Medical -Surgical courses. She is also a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Campus Wellness Center.

Maureen Tabura

Maria Fabro, RN, MS
Family Nurse Practitioner

Maria comes with experience in Medical-Surgical nursing and Advance Practice nursing in family practice. She graduated from UH Manoa in May 2001 as a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s degree in nursing. Her interests include surfing and practicing martial arts.

Maureen Tabura, RN, MSN

Maureen teaches primarily medical - surgical nursing to both the first and second level students.  She also instructs  Nursing 259 Basic EKG Interpretation on line .  She is a certified BLS and ACLS instructor.  Received her BSN from The College of New Jersey and her Masters for Nursing Education degree at UH at Manoa.

Mary Tanka   Tammie Napoleon

Mary Kay Tanka, RN, MSN

Mary Kay comes to us from Illinois diversified background of health care experience.  She received her MSN from Aurora University.  Mary Kay's love is teaching Pediatrics but has taught Medical-Surgical and Maternal-Child courses.

 

Tammie Napoleon, RN, BS

Tammie teaches maternal-child health and pediatrics. She recieved her BSN and MSN from University of Manoa. She is Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. "I love Pediatrics, it's my passion." She also provides adolescent healthcare at the Campus Wellness Center. She is also a BCLS instructor.

Serena Arts   Sharon Offley

Serena Arts , APRN , MSN

Serena received an MSN in adult health with a subspecialty in geriatrics from the University of San Diego, after 10 years of nursing in critical care and hyperbaric medicine. She has specialized in wound care as a Nurse Practitioner, with additional experience spanning from cardiothoracic surgery to health appraisal. She has moved to Kauai with her husband in 2007. She is teaching medical-surgical nursing and nursing issues courses to 1st level students. She also works in the campus wellness center.

 

Sharon Offley, APRN, MSN

Sharon Offley joined KCC in 2006. She is a certified nurse midwife with a background in well-woman, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care and has worked with low-risk as well as complicated clients in hospital and birth center settings. She is happy to share her love of caring for woman and families with KCC nursing students.

Victoria Mathis   Teri Sakai

Victoria Mathis, APRN, MSN

Victoria graduated from UH Manoa as a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner with a Masters of Science in Nursing, in May 2001. Her background is the frail institutionalized elderly and hospice and palliative care. She is currently working on her Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric Nursing.

 

Teri Sakai , RN, MS

Teri Sakai is a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Wellness Center and has taught Med-Surg in the nursing program. She received her Master's in Nursing from the University of Hawaii. She has extensive experience in medical-surgical and maternal child health.

Char Ono   Rick Carmichael

Char Ono, APRN Rx, BC, MS

Char is the program director for the Career Ladder Nursing Program at Kauai Community College. She received a Master's in Nursing Administration from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa in 1990. She has been at KCC since 1991. Char has taught psychiatric and medical-surgical nursing courses. Char is also certified as an Instructor Trainer in Basic Life Support. She completed her post-master's certificate in the Family Nurse Practitioner program from UH in May 2001. She is currently in the doctoral program at UH

 

Richard W. Carmichael
APRN, MS, MPH

Rick was the program director for the Career Ladder Nursing Program at Kauai Community College until he semi-retired in 2006. He has been at KCC since 1986. He received his Master's in Nursing and Public Health in 1980 from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 1978.
